LHH is assisting a dynamic and rapidly growing nonprofit organization with a focus in the real estate industry in their search for an Accountant on a temp to perm basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with strong reconciliation experience, proficiency in Yardi, and advanced Excel skills to contribute to our client's success. The role is hybrid (three days onsite in New York City).
Position Overview:
As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, conducting reconciliations, and supporting various accounting functions. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial data, analyzing discrepancies, and providing insights to management. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Conduct general ledger account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial transactions and balances.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Utilize Yardi software to perform various accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and general ledger management.
- Generate ad-hoc financial reports and analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Develop and maintain complex Excel spreadsheets with advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and macros.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and support.
- Stay current on accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in accounting roles, with a focus on reconciliation and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in Yardi a must
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs
- Strong reconciliation skills
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
