What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Design Engineer position at LHH?
LHH is seeking a motivated Design Engineer to join our team in Grapeland, TX. This role is responsible for designing open web steel joists and ensuring products meet structural design requirements for a wide range of projects, including gas stations, athletic stadiums, and large warehouses. *Relocation package is available. Unable to provide sponsorship or visa transfer*
Compensation: 75-$80K bonus (typical bonus equates to 15-30% of base salary. last year bonus was 30% of base salary). Additionally profit sharing bonus as well as full benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401K match, paid time off.
This role is available to recent graduates with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, as well as students that will be graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering in May 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform design work in accordance with industry standards and manufacturing processes.
- Review contract documents, including structural and architectural drawings, as well as project specifications.
- Provide technical guidance to detailers, shop orders, and production teams during project design and development.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including other design professionals.
- Promote company products to specifiers and at industry conventions.
- Maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety, adhering to all policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited).
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
- Ability to pass the Professional Engineering (PE) exam within 18 months of hire.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
