What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Litigation Paralegal position at LHH?
The Commercial Litigation Paralegal will play a key role in assisting our attorneys with the management and litigation of class action and oil and gas disputes. This position requires 5 years of experience in commercial litigation, particularly with expertise in eDiscovery and case management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex legal cases, handling discovery, and supporting trial preparation. Key Responsibilities :
- Provide comprehensive paralegal support for complex commercial litigation matters, including class action and oil and gas cases.
- Manage all aspects of the discovery process, including document collection, review, analysis, and production using eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity and Logikcull.
- Assist with drafting legal documents such as complaints, motions, discovery responses, and pleadings under the guidance of attorneys.
- Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all documents are properly stored and easily accessible in both electronic and physical formats.
- Prepare and organize materials for depositions, hearings, trials, and other court proceedings.
- Work closely with attorneys to prepare trial exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders, ensuring all necessary documentation is ready for court.
- Track case deadlines and ensure compliance with court orders, filing requirements, and timelines.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties to coordinate case details and obtain necessary documents.
- Conduct legal research related to class action, oil and gas litigation, and other commercial litigation matters.
- Provide general litigation support, including managing calendars, coordinating meetings, and preparing billing and time entries.
- Collaborate with experts, vendors, and outside counsel to ensure smooth management of cases.
