Function
As Controller you are responsible to direct the financial activities of the organization, prepare financial analyses of operations for the guidance of management decisions, and maintain and coordinate health insurance and other employee benefits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Establish and maintain policies, procedures and practices relating to the management of all accounting related functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit policies, billing, general ledger, and fixed asset accounting
- Prepare reports, which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income and expenses based on past, present, and expected operations
- Analyze and interpret financial results to support executive decision making. Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Manage and oversee the accounting staff and their responsibilities
- Monitor and maximize cash flows
- Prepare and monitor collateral schedules and bank loan covenants
- Prepare quarterly sales commissions
- Prepare departmental and company-wide budgets; monitor compliance throughout the year
- Advise management about health, property, and workers compensation insurance coverage
- Present and explain the company's health insurance coverage and other employee benefits
- Oversee human resources and coordinate activities with outsourced payroll service, employee health insurance and 401k and Profit-Sharing Plans
- Communicate with the external CFO in finance and accounting related projects
- Communicate with the external accounting firm in connection with the annual financial statement review and preparation of necessary income tax returns
- Prepare and file sales and use tax and personal property tax forms
- Prepare and file 1099 forms
- Document worker’s compensation coverage, claims and coordinate annual audit.
- Represent finance in management and sales meetings
- Ability verbally & electronically communicate with other company service and sales personnel in a positive professional manner at all times
Qualifications

- Proficient in the Microsoft office suite and other job specific software packages
- Very adaptable – responds effectively to changes in situation or information; ability to influence others and build consensus using good written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum Associates Degree in Accounting or related field, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.Relevant experience will also be taken into consideration.
Salary : $120,000 - $150,000
