What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Accountant position at LHH?
LHH is currently recruiting a Cost Accountant for a long-term contract assignment with one of our Houston area clients. This role will be responsible for cost accounting and various month-end close duties.
Job duties include:
- Perform month-end close accounting duties related to cost accounting including preparation of journal entries.
- Analyze inventory, purchase price variances, and prepare monthly account reconciliations.
- Prepare financial analysis related to manufacturing costs and expenses for various product lines.
- Manage inventory system and record inventory costs into separate accounting system via journal entries.
Qualifications include:
- 2 years of cost accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, along with strong ERP system experience.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with manual systems and processes.
