LHH is seeking a dedicated and experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and Compliance Manager to join our client's team in Joplin, MS. The EHS and Compliance Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all environmental, health, safety, and compliance programs to ensure a safe and compliant workplace within the industrial manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Policies: Create and enforce EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Training and Communication: Provide training to employees on EHS policies, procedures, and best practices. Foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor EHS performance and compliance, and prepare detailed reports for management and regulatory agencies.
- Environmental Protection: Develop and manage programs for waste management, pollution control, and sustainability initiatives.
- Emergency Response: Coordinate emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness for various incidents.
- Legal Compliance: Stay updated with changes in EHS regulations and ensure the organization remains compliant.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and update EHS policies and procedures to enhance safety standards and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Certifications: CSP, CIH, or CHMM certification preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Proficiency with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulatory agencies.
- ISO 14001 Experience: Demonstrated experience with ISO 14001 environmental management systems is required.
