LHH is looking to hire a Financial Controller for an onsite role located near the Loop. The Controller will oversee the financial operations across three divisions within an international parent company. This role is responsible for managing daily accounting tasks, financial reporting, and the month-end close process. Key functions also include budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, and working capital optimization, with a particular focus on manufacturing accounting and standard costing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-Day Accounting: Direct the daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and payroll, with an emphasis on manufacturing accounting.
- Month-End Close: Supervise the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliations for all three divisions.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, particularly for manufacturing operations.
- Standard Costing: Implement and manage standard costing systems to support manufacturing cost controls, product costing, and financial planning.
- Treasury Management: Oversee treasury functions with a focus on optimizing cash flow and liquidity across divisions.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes for all divisions, ensuring alignment with organizational and manufacturing goals.
- Foreign Currency Transactions: Manage foreign currency transactions and risk through coordination with international business units.
- Audit Readiness: Ensure compliance with financial controls, processes, and accounting policies, with an emphasis on manufacturing cost structures, to maintain audit readiness.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial performance in manufacturing, identify cost-saving opportunities, and drive efficiency improvements.
- Strategic Insights: Provide the CEO with strategic financial insights to support decision-making for manufacturing and overall business strategy.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and develop the finance team, ensuring effective support for all business units.
Requirements:
- A degree in a business-related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- Expertise in manufacturing accounting, including cost accounting, standard costing systems, and inventory management.
- Proven experience in managing day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and financial statement preparation.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing finance teams in manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, especially SAP, and experience in manufacturing settings is highly desirable.
- Experience in handling foreign currency transactions is preferred
Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
