What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fund Accountant position at LHH?
We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Fund Accountant to manage key accounting and financial reporting processes for our investment funds. This role involves collaborating with third-party administrators to ensure accurate and timely financial and investor reporting, overseeing cash management activities, supporting compliance efforts, and assisting with audits. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of fund operations while supporting investment and client service teams on critical projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage cash activities, including processing wires for investment purchases and fund expenses, confirming wire instructions, requesting draws and paydowns on credit lines, and reconciling capital calls.
- Support the preparation of financial statement audits and regulatory compliance reporting.
- Review investor K-1s and other tax reporting and filings to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct detailed preparation and analytical reviews of weekly and monthly fund performance and investor reporting.
- Assist investment and client service teams with ad-hoc requests and projects.
- Contribute to special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in financial services or with a top-tier accounting firm, focusing on investment partnerships, hedge funds, mutual funds, or private equity.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent analytical and organizational abilities.
- High proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe, CRMs, task management, and portfolio management systems.
- Solid understanding of investment strategies across equities, fixed income, hedge funds, private equity, and real estate.
- Experience with financial reporting, auditing, and tax.
