What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grants Accountant position at LHH?
LHH is looking to hire a Grant Accountant for a hybrid role located in Chicago. This role includes analyzing allowable expenses, monitoring budgets, and handling grant billing and reporting. As well as, ensuring compliance, maintaining documentation, and reconciling accounts related to grants and contracts.
Responsibilities:
- Execute daily grant accounting tasks to accurately allocate revenues and expenses in line with funding guidelines and best practices.
- Prepare monthly cash reconciliations for grants.
- Develop recommendations for grant budgets.
- Conduct monthly budget and expense analyses for program grants, making necessary accounting entries.
- Identify and resolve billing issues related to grants, providing support for procedural concerns.
- Oversee the preparation of vouchers, billing, and reports required for funded programs.
- Monitor grant expenditures and assist with oversight of sub-recipient activities.
- Carry out post-award functions for grants, including budget analysis, invoicing, financial reporting, labor distribution adjustments, reconciliations, re-budgeting, and closeout processes.
- Generate timely and accurate financial reports on grants for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Controller to forecast cash flow for grants.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and donor regulations concerning grants and contributions.
- Assist in preparing Financial Performance Reports for various grants.
- Prepare reimbursement requests for grants as directed by the CFO.
- Serve as a backup for the Payroll Accountant.
- Perform other related duties as needed to ensure the department operates efficiently and effectively.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- Experience in FQHC or non-profit accounting preferred.
- 2 years of grant accounting experience.
- Debits and Credits experience
Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
