Key Responsibilities
- Insurance Collections:
- Review and analyze insurance claims to identify and resolve issues.
- Follow up on unpaid or underpaid claims with insurance companies.
- Contact insurance companies to obtain necessary information and ensure timely payment.
- Remediation:
- Investigate and correct errors in billing or claim submissions.
- Work with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and address patient inquiries.
- Develop and implement strategies for reducing claim denials and improving reimbursement rates.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all claim submissions, follow-ups, and resolutions.
- Generate and review reports to monitor collection activities and identify trends.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for management review.
- Customer Service:
- Communicate effectively with patients and insurance providers to resolve billing issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to ensure patient satisfaction.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing with a focus on insurance collections and remediation.
- Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Strong understanding of medical coding, insurance guidelines, and billing procedures.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
