Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Property Manager specializing in HUD and Section 8 housing to oversee the day-to-day operations of affordable housing communities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local housing regulations, managing tenant relations, coordinating maintenance, and optimizing property performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to HUD, Section 8, Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), and other affordable housing program requirements. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing laws and regulations.
- Oversee leasing, tenant selection, and annual recertifications to maintain program compliance. Address resident concerns and enforce lease agreements.
- Prepare and manage budgets, collect rent, process subsidies, and maintain accurate financial records. Monitor property performance to maximize revenue and minimize vacancies.
- Coordinate routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure a safe and well-maintained living environment. Work closely with vendors and maintenance staff.
- Maintain thorough records, complete required HUD and Section 8 reports, and ensure timely submission of compliance documentation.
- Foster a positive living environment by building relationships with tenants, local agencies, and community stakeholders. Address tenant concerns professionally and equitably.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of property management experience, preferably in affordable housing, HUD, or Section 8 properties.
- Strong knowledge of HUD regulations, Fair Housing laws, and Low-Income Housing programs.
- Experience with tenant certifications, recertifications, and lease compliance.
- Proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS), Tax Credit Specialist (TCS), or similar certification preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Salary : $69,000 - $72,000
