LHH Recruitment Solutions (formerly Ajilon) is currently seeking an Mechanical Engineer in the greater Lexington, KY area. This well-established manufacturing company is looking for a Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing facility. Key activities of the role include evaluating current processes, recommending and implementing process changes, and supporting continuous improvement and lean manufacturing efforts. The annual salary range for this position is $80-95K plus excellent benefits, 401k matching, and PTO.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & REQUIREMENTS:
- Take ownership for manufacturing machines and troubleshoot along with maintenance technicians.
- Analyze equipment downtime to improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
- Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop equipment, fixturing, procedures, processes, tooling, and/or automation.
- Assess process capabilities, identify improvement opportunities, and integrate new processes & equipment to maximize manufacturing throughput and velocity.
- Conduct equipment/process audits and lead necessary improvement efforts.
- Develop process documentation to meet quality system and safety requirements.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Responsible for KPI and manufacturing process flow improvements.
- Train and/or provide work direction to engineering technicians, maintenance associates, manufacturing engineers, and manufacturing personnel.
- Utilize Design of Experiments and process analysis to ensure smooth transition from pre-production to production.
EDUCATION
- Mechanical Engineering degree.
- 2-5 years of experience as an engineer in a manufacturing facility preferred.
- Strong knowledge of current use & leading-edge technologies.
- Strong knowledge of material processing, tooling, and part fabrication.
