Production Supervisor (2nd Shift)

***This is a 2nd Shift position where the standard work hours are 3:30 pm-2 am***

LHH is seeking a Production Supervisor for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client located in Rensselaer, IN. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing team and to join an industry-leader in a unique manufacturing environment. In this role, you will manage a team operators and technicians as you oversee the production-related activities within your designated area. The compensation ranges between $70,000-80,000 per year and includes incredibly affordable insurance options where the company pays for nearly all of your out of pocket expenses, a 401k plan with a company match, and generous PTO and holiday offerings.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead all production staff, evaluate work orders, and create production schedules to meet customer demands
• Coordinate the activities of the welding and fabrication team and ensure that materials and products move smoothly through the facility
• Monitor and manage production schedules to meet deadlines and customer demands
• Confirm accurate stock levels of all raw materials before adding to production schedule and assign work duties
• Ensure all welding and fabrication work meets company standards and customer specifications
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis to identify and resolve process-related stoppages, prevent production delays and/or backlogs, and eliminate recurrence of non-conformance issues
• Collaborate with other departments, including painting, assembly, and quality control, to ensure seamless production processes
• Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to maintain high standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to welding and fabrication processes
• Train and mentor team members to enhance their skills and productivity
• Remain in compliance with Quality Assurance and Safety standards at all times

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Technical certification or degree in welding, fabrication, or a related field preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of metal manufacturing experience is required
• Preferred candidates will have experience and/or previous knowledge of welding operations (although you do not need to be a welder to qualify for this position)
• Must have 2 years of leadership experience leading a manufacturing/production team
• Must have experience with production scheduling and understand how materials flow efficiently through a manufacturing facility
• Must possess the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Must be a natural problem-solver who possesses excellent communication skills
• Must have intermediate or advanced skills using Excel
