Job Title: Quality Control Manager
General Description: The Quality Control Manager will report to the Construction Manager and oversee the inspection team on the job site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor contractors' on-site construction activities and inspect incoming materials.
- Ensure compliance with construction plans, specifications, and special provisions.
- Maintain detailed records of daily operations and events affecting the worksite, and review plan modifications.
- Perform sampling and testing of materials and completed work as per the construction contract.
- Utilize basic math skills to compute test results.
- Conduct duties across multiple job sites.
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, and FDOT design standards.
- Prepare written reports and record test results for various construction elements in Density Logbooks.
- Clean and maintain testing equipment and vehicles.
- Perform jobsite testing as required by specifications and contract documents.
- Conduct product tests as directed by the Director of Technical Services.
- Digitally sign monthly certification forms for various projects.
- Access FDOT MAC to enter QC plans, addendums, test results, and check sample data.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including plant personnel, managers, contractors, and agency representatives.
- Problem-solve and work independently.
- Prepare QC reports and recommend solutions to quality issues, collaborating with vendors, agencies, and customers.
Qualification Requirements:

- Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 1-2 years of college or equivalent (e.g., trade school, specialized training) or more industry-related experience, with a focus on roads, highways, and bridges.
- Required certifications:
- ACI Level 1
- CTQP Level I and II
- CTQP DOT Concrete Field Inspector Specification
- CTQP QC Manager
- CTCI ACI Level 2 (or ability to obtain within 1 year)
- Nuclear Gauge Safety & Certification
- Ability to understand work directions and communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
Physical Demands:
- Constant physical effort, including standing for extended periods during an 8-hour shift.
- Ability to lift and carry 30-50 pounds frequently.
- Physical dexterity for repetitive motions involving legs, arms, and hands.
- Maintain alertness to concurrent activities, including the operation of equipment and movement of machinery.
- Frequently walk on uneven surfaces in varying weather conditions.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- Exposure to high noise levels, grease, and dust typical of construction sites.
- Regular proximity to heavy equipment and moving machinery.
- Exposure to substances commonly found on construction sites, such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel, and asphalt.

Salary : $110,000 - $135,000
