LHH is seeking an experienced Sales and Use Tax Specialist to manage and ensure compliance with sales and use tax regulations across multiple states and jurisdictions. This role involves reviewing, reconciling, implementing, filing, and updating sales and use tax records. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sales tax compliance, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities :
- Ensure accurate calculation and collection of sales and use tax across various states and jurisdictions.
- File and pay sales and use tax returns timely, including monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Assist with state and local sales audits, including data gathering and professional communication.
- Maintain and manage the sales tax certification process, ensuring correct application to customer transactions.
- Stay updated on sales tax laws, rates, and compliance requirements, and modify internal procedures as needed.
- Provide support to the accounting and finance departments and prepare related journal entries as needed.
- Address sales and use tax-related inquiries and ensure accurate tax applications.
- Utilize tax compliance software for filing and reporting, ensuring systems are accurate with rates and regulations.
- Assist in accounting and finance tasks as needed.
