What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant Financial Reporting - Dallas, TX position at LHH?
LHH is working with a company that is adding a new Senior Financial Reporting Accountant (SEC Reporting) to their team. This role will be responsible for supporting various external and internal financial reporting functions, as well as month-end close activities. This person will play a key role in the company’s consolidated financial reporting processes and will assist in the preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and other disclosures for the company’s quarterly and annual SEC filings. Additionally, this person will be involved in recording journal entries, performing account analyses, and providing accounting support to internal stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing financial statements, footnotes, disclosures, and XBRL tagging for SEC Forms 10-K and 10-Q, along with other SEC filings as required
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for management and key stakeholders
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors for quarterly reviews and year-end audits, ensuring compliance with SOX controls
- Prepare monthly journal entries and complete account reconciliations on a monthly and/or quarterly basis
- Assist with lease accounting by reviewing and setting up lease agreements in the LeaseQuery system
- Identify and engage in department-wide process improvement and automation initiatives
- Gain proficiency in software tools used by the company, such as Workiva, Oracle Cloud Fusion Financials, EPM Cloud Financial Consolidation & Close software, and LeaseQuery
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
- B.S. or equivalent in Accounting/Advanced degree in Accounting required
- CPA or candidate preferred
- 2 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience in public accounting or experience within a publicly-traded company
- Experience with corporate accounting, financial reporting, and SEC filings preferred
- Familiarity with the WDesk/Workiva platform and XBRL tagging preferred
