What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at LHH?
LHH Recruitment Solutions is searching for a Senior Accountant in the Phoenix, AZ area. Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant with at least 3 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a background in a company that is high growth and deals with acquisitions being a huge plus, but not required. The person in this position will eventually be promoted to team lead and will be responsible for leading a team of accountants.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including month-end and year-end close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of budgets and forecasts
- Provide financial analysis and support to the management team
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns
- Lead and develop a team of accountants, providing guidance and support as needed
- Implement and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- At least 3 years of experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of GAAP
- CPA certification preferred but not required
- Experience with high-growth companies and acquisitions is a huge plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lead and develop a team of accountants
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
