Our client, a growing mid-size private equity firm in Chicago, Illinois, is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Fund Accountant to join their team. The Senior Fund Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of accounting and financial reporting duties related to the firm's investment funds.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements, footnotes, and other supporting schedules for various investment funds
- Perform general ledger maintenance and reconciliations
- Prepare capital calls, distributions, and investor statements
- Work with the investment team to ensure accurate and timely valuation of investments
- Assist with tax compliance and reporting
- Assist with audit and regulatory filings
- Participate in special projects and ad-hoc analyses as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3 years of relevant accounting experience in the financial services industry, with exposure to private equity or alternative investments preferred
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software
- CPA or progress towards CPA preferred
