What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at LHH?
We are looking for a Staff Accountant to support general accounting operations by recording and verifying financial transactions and preparing financial reports. Staff Accountant responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing account and bank reconciliations, assisting with the month-end closing process, and helping with other information/reporting requests.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Office Managers for daily cash collection, reconciliation, and monthly reporting on production, cash collection, and KPIs
- Assist in general billing and collection process and reporting to various stakeholders
- Assist in monthly close process by posting journal entries, preparing bank and account reconciliations
- Prepare requested schedules and work with external and tax auditors
- Respond to Controller inquiries in a timely manner
- Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly and supported by valid detail
- Assist in the annual budgeting process
- Perform other related duties (ad hoc data requests, special projects) as necessary or assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- 3 – 8 years relevant experience in financial accounting, experience with general ledger functions and the month-end closing and reporting process
- Detail-oriented and proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel including Vlookups and pivot tables
- Experience with SAP is a plus
- Highly organized and self-motivated with the ability to multitask
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
