Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Analyst focusing on Sales and Use Tax to manage sales and use tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions. This role involves tax research, compliance tracking, financial data analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate sales/use tax compliance, including minimal business license and gross receipts tax filings.
- Maintain and update the tax calendar and database, adjusting for new jurisdictions and regulatory changes.
- Extract financial data from various sources and prepare sales tax returns using spreadsheets and databases.
- Utilize Access Database to generate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and expensed supplies summaries.
- Analyze transactions to determine correct tax treatment and identify applicable sales tax exemptions or reductions.
- Research tax codes and regulations to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for savings.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax compliance.
- Assist with special tax projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Business required
- 2 years of sales and use tax experience
- Strong knowledge of sales and use tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and financial databases.
- Experience in tax compliance, reporting, and financial analysis.
- Ability to research and interpret tax laws for compliance and optimization.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
