Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Saw Operator to join our steel manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various saws and cutting equipment to produce high-quality materials for our production processes. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and a commitment to safety standards. The Saw Operator will work closely with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet production targets. Must be able to keep files updated and organised. Must be able to proficiently and accurately read a tape measure.
Duties
- Operate and maintain saws and cutting equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine cutting specifications.
- Measure and mark materials accurately using basic math skills and a tape measure.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to prevent downtime.
- Collaborate with team members to fabricate components according to project requirements.
- Utilize hand tools and machinery safely, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
Skills
- Strong basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
- Must be able to proficiently and accurately read a tape measure.
- Experience operating forklifts for material handling is beneficial.
- Familiarity with tooling techniques and sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of machining principles and practices.
- Ability to effectively use hand tools for various tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Must be able to keep files updated and organised.
- Must be able to work our shop hours which start at 5am
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.50 - $20.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
