Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Helper to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in various steel and miscellaneous metal yard tasks, ensuring that outdoor spaces are well-maintained and organised to optimise efficiency and productivity. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. Must be able to proficiently and accurately read a tape measure.
Responsibilities
- Assist in organisation of steel and metal yard. Includes organising material racks and yard space.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently for various tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and ensure tools and equipment are stored properly after use.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while adhering to safety protocols.
- Follow instructions from supervisors regarding specific tasks or projects related to upkeep.
Requirements
- Previous experience in construction is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with power tools and hand tools used is a plus.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment such as a forklift or gradall is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all tasks.
- Willingness to learn new skills.
- A positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Must be able to proficiently and accurately read a tape measure.
- Must be able to work our shop hours which start at 5am
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 - $18.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
