We are seeking a reliable and skilled individual to join our team as a Heavy Equipment Operator. This role involves performing manual labor duties throughout the plant, including heavy equipment operation, quality control management, and plant utility tasks.
The successful candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment, such as haul trucks, water trucks, and skid steers. They will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety policies and procedures, and promoting safety among coworkers.
In addition to their technical skills, the ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with supervisors and peers. They must also be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Heavy Equipment Operation: Safely operate mobile equipment, abide by all company policies and procedures, and follow State and Federal laws.
Preventive Maintenance: Perform pre-shift inspections on vehicles, fuel equipment as needed, and log all fuel required. Report or fix all items found during pre-shift inspections and perform preventive maintenance on trucks when needed.
Plant Utility: Clean up the plant as required, assist with shipping and loading, and perform equipment inspections to notify production and maintenance of issues.
Safety: Follow directions, attend scheduled safety meetings, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and promote safety among coworkers using BBS.
Quality Control: Follow directions, dump mined ore in designated locations, and report any deviations from the norm that might impact product quality or processing efficiencies.
Requirements:
1-3 years of related experience, completion of an apprenticeship program, technical program, or equivalent experience in an industrial background.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent, completion of an apprenticeship program, technical program, or equivalent experience in an industrial background.
Ability to work shift work, overtime, seven days a week, or holidays as needed.
Able to lift over 50 pounds and tolerate working outside in weather conditions and exposure to industrial high temperature, limestone, noise, and dust.
Demonstrated skills of heavy equipment operation, safe vehicle operation history, and effective communication and interaction with supervisors and peers.
