What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bulk Loader position at Lhoist North America?
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is expected to know all aspects of loading rail cars and trucks and understand, and trouble shoot JWS with little to no supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain a smooth and efficient flow of truck and rail traffic.
- Prior to loading product, inspect truck trailers and railcars to ensure they are free from containments.
- Ensure different product types are distributed into the appropriate trucks/rail cars and the proper weight is loaded for each shipment.
- Familiar with different silo product types.
- Complete bill of lading for truck and rail shipments.
- Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate silo inventory measurements.
- Training
- Participate in company-sponsored training and certification programs
- Training of new employees on equipment related to load out area.
- Cross train in other areas as needed.
- Troubleshoot and maintain variable speed drives.
- Maintenance and quality control
- Keep rail and truck scales clean.
- Responsible for maintaining a water free environment from rail pit and scales.
- Ability to make minor adjustments to load-out related equipment.
- Complete daily equipment check reports.
- Assist daily in plant cleanup of production areas.
- Safety
- Must be well versed on all aspects of safety.
- Comply with company, state, and governmental health and safety regulations at all times.
- Complete and document Workplace Inspections in a timely manner.
- Perform all assigned work adhering to Company and governmental safety rules and regulations, including company lock out tag out procedures.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment including shuttle wagon, front end loader, forklift, bobcat, and tractor in a safe manner.
- Safe Quality Food (SQF)
- Ensure a SQF workplace and follow regulatory compliance with Federal FDA - Food Modernization Safety Act (CFR Code of Federal Regulations Title 21, Part 507).
- Support Environmental Health and Safety, as well as SQF initiatives and awareness programs.
- Be a leader and promoter of employee safety and SQF culture.
- Following completion of SQF training, demonstrate understanding of expected safety, SQF performance and Food Safety Culture.
- Complete periodic SQF training(s).
- Each site location will ensure training is conducted for new employees and continued for existing employees.
- Employees will actively participate in audits for regulatory, safety, SQF and environmental compliance at the site.
