What are the responsibilities and job description for the QC Lab Technician position at Lhoist North America?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Laboratory work including gathering samples and performing tests for production and quality assurance following established laboratory guidelines. Effectively document, interpret and communicate analysis results within the context of the production facilities to maintain product quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
Quality Control Testing / Production Support
- Responsible for minor repairs on laboratory equipment and preventative maintenance.
- Perform daily testing requirements.
- Accurately sample and measure chemical and physical properties on all types of raw and finished products, environmental systems, and fuels following established laboratory guidelines.
- Maintain the quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods.
- Monitor performance by gathering data and producing statistical reports.
- Evaluates returned product and reports findings to department impacted.
- Assist with tasks in other departments as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust.
- Walking up and down stairs and ladders, negotiating uneven surfaces.
- Ability to occasionally lift/carry up to 40 pounds.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: high School Diploma, GED Equivalent, or demonstrated skills or ability.
PREFFERED EDUCATION: Associate degree in a science-based degree program preferred and/or demonstrated skills and ability.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 1 year laboratory experience preferable in the cement or lime industry.
PREFFERED EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years laboratory experience preferable in the cement or lime industry.
