Quality Liaison Resident Engineer

Must have:

- Quality Engineer Liaison / Vendor Representative Experience - minimum 1 year

- Must have Vehicle Aesthetic Plastics Experience - minimum 1 year

Job Responsibilities:

• Represent on behalf of the Customer for quality concerns at the OEM location
• Communicate with OEM Quality Engineers, Supplier Quality Engineers, Line support team, line supervisors and line operators to gather information on quality concerns / problems and provide feedback to the Customer and the Company in a timely manner
• Act as a communication channel between Customer and OEM. Maintain a list of key contact people for Customer parts represented by the Contractor
• Communicate with Quality Managers about part quality concerns as needed and present on behalf of the Customer as requested
• Visit part installation area on assembly line and review part installation procedure
• Visit part quarantine area, repair area, inventory area, sequencing area and final assembly area to find any parts reported with quality concerns
• Conduct inspection of parts and sorts at OEM location as needed and report sort results and status
• Ship parts to Customer Site / plant for detailed analysis as requested by Customer
• Oversee sorts at OEM location and report sort results and status
• Communicate with OEM and Customer materials supply team to ensure only defect free parts get supplied to the assembly line until, clean point parts come from the customer and start feeding on the assembly line
• Authorize returns of rejected parts on assembly line, as needed
• Reporting: Daily / weekly report to the customer and the company for issues and open items as requested by Customer / Company

Minimum Qualifications

• Proficient in English (verbal and written).
• Good judgment and ability to follow direction in customer communication.
• Basic understanding of injection molding and the paint process.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
• No color vision deficiency.

Required Skills

• Strong ability to work independently.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Computer literate (email proficiency required).
• Ability to detect plastic molding defects
