Responsibilities:
Level 1 Responsibilities:
- Reading and interpreting basic audio and video plans.
- Installing low-voltage wiring, including retrofits and new construction, per project specifications.
- Using tone testers and multi-meters for cabling diagnostics.
- Labeling wires and components in accordance with company standards.
- Handling terminations (e.g., RJ45, DB9, HD15, RCA, BNC) and fiber work is a plus.
- Assisting with speaker installations, phone/data ports, and ensuring all installations are neat and level.
- Rack-mounting equipment, organizing cables, and completing power setups.
- Assisting with basic system installations and setups.
- Completing punch-list items promptly.
- Operating hand tools safely and maintaining a tidy workspace.
- Maintaining client courtesy and a neat personal appearance while on-site.
- Working efficiently with team members and taking direction from team leads and managers.
- Regular cleaning of job materials and van organization.
- Adhering to construction safety standards and PPE protocols.
- Familiarity with the installation, testing, and maintenance of systems such as speakers, amplifiers, and displays.
- Managing data cabling, including phone blocks and CATV systems.
- Installing control systems and uploading/downloading programming.
- Installing and configuring audio/video systems with keen attention to detail.
- Troubleshooting issues independently and referring to manuals when needed.
- Assisting with network and signal routing installations.
- Dealing with on-site challenges and working closely with project management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills for system troubleshooting.
- Constructing, wiring, and labeling equipment racks.
- Reading and interpreting full system plans for networks, audio/video, and control systems.
- Expertise in installing and configuring complex control systems (IR, RF, IP, CEC, RS232 protocols).
- Uploading and editing control system programs.
- In-depth knowledge of pro-audio systems, DSPs, mixers, EQs, amplifiers, and speaker processors.
- Handling advanced installations like pop-ups/cable cubbies, camera systems, and lighting control systems.
- Understanding wireless systems and RF environments.
- Writing and modifying DSP audio programs.
- Configuring network devices and understanding Ethernet technologies.
- Familiarity with OSHA and ADA standards.
- Full system commissioning for residential, commercial, or pro-audio systems.
- Expertise in projectors and related equipment like electric screens, lifts, and mounts.
- Experience in commercial audio, video, DSP, and lighting control installations.
- A two-year Electronics degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities.
- Proven track record in exceptional customer service.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Proficient in written communication and PC skills.
- Experience with Crestron, QSC, Bi-Amp coding, updating, and loading.
- Interest in acoustics, music, electronics, sound, lighting, or video systems is preferred.
- Ability to play an instrument and/or read music is a bonus.
