As the Director of New Product Development (NPD) Marketing you will be instrumental in developing and executing comprehensive short term and long-term growth strategies. This role is the engine of growth for all Libbey product categories (across the full tabletop). This role owns multiple category roadmaps, stage gate process, ideation process and new product performance post-launch for all business channels in the Americas.
The Director of NPD Marketing is responsible for developing short-term and long-term new product concepts, products, and product lines (new and line extensions) and roadmap for all Libbey categories, to maximize profitable growth. This leader will drive competitive analysis, new product pricing, packaging, pipeline creation, forecasting, new product revenue and margin. This role will both lead and work collaboratively with sales, pricing, channel & category marketing, NPD cross functional teams, and external stakeholders. This cross functional collaboration will achieve execution of customer, product, and channel growth initiatives, and ensure alignment of company’ goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership:
Lead, manage and develop new product development (NPD) marketing
Lead, manage and communicate with NPD cross functional teams

Strategic Roadmap Development & Project Management:
Spearhead the ideation and development of a rolling 3-yr product roadmap aligned with Libbey’s vision, business ambition, and market trends
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and prioritize concepts that align with the company's growth objectives
Oversee end-to-end product development processes, from concept creation to commercialization, identifying potential risks and challenges during product development and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and outcomes for breakthrough and commercial innovation
New Product Development
Own and drive stage gate (SG) management and SG process improvement along with Project Management Office, looking to increase our speed to market
Launch Viability: Ensure high-quality, timely, and successful product launches that meet portfolio objectives, are accretive, deliver on financial KPIs, and exceed customer expectations for category growth
Continuously improve product revenue build from launch
Responsible for ensuring that each launch has a strong insight, benefit reason to believe and compelling, selling story for the customers, channel, and the category
New Product Vision and Strategy
Analyzing industry, customer, end-user trends and design trends
Lead our competitive analysis approaches. Manage product lifecycle analysis and deliver ideas to renew product lifecycles
Own, develop and lead Libbey’s ideation process
NPD Revenue and Analytics
Analyze and report NPD revenues & analytics (monthly/quarterly), ultimately driving action plans and business decisions
Own a host of metrics: NPD inventory turnover, budget, and forecasting
Go-to-Market Hand-off:
Once commercialization begins, deliver the necessary information for your counterparts to lead the go-to-market execution
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, engineering, or a related field is required; MBA preferred.
10 years of progressive and increasing responsibility in the following areas: successfully driving new products, innovation, marketing strategies, plans, programs, and operations to drive revenue growth is required.
Experience with tabletop products (glassware, dinnerware, flatware, serve ware and durable goods) is required.
Deep knowledge of stage gate and new product development is required.
4 years of experience leading professionals is required.
New product and or innovation management experience in a matrix organization is required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Retail, food service, and/or B2B channel experience is preferred.
Strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to apply strategic and critical thinking to business situations
Ability to understand and synthesize financial, analytical and research to create actionable insights
Experience creating new product business cases for financial evaluation
Experience with pricing strategy and product costing
Experience with opportunity mapping and concept sizing
Experience in understanding technical products to create product concepts for evaluation.
Experience with process, continuous improvement, agile process, and/or lean thinking
Experience with managing and collaborating with international teams
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
This position will report to Senior Vice President of Marketing
This position will manage 4-6 professional associates – located in the United States and/or Mexico.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
This position will travel 10-15% of the time, with some international travel
