9-12 AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION TEACHER & FFA ADVISOR
USD 480 is seeking a gr. 9-12 Agricultural Education teacher and an FFA Advisor. This is a young program with dedicated students and FFA members. The facilities for the agricultural educator are a science lab in the high school and food science kitchen.
The classes currently taught in this department are: Agriscience, Animal Science, Introduction to Agriculture, Equine Science,Small Animal Care, and Internships. With the possible expansion in the areas of Ag Welding and Ag Mechanics.
Essential Job Functions:

- Demonstrate the ability to assess student needs and respond with appropriate action.
- Demonstrate the confidence to lead and the humility necessary to follow a directive.
- Demonstrate the ability to work with fellow educators to develop, implement and evaluate instructional strategies and materials to improve teaching and learning for all students of multiple grades.
- Demonstrate flexibility in regards to schedule, program demands, and student needs.
- Understand the importance of building positive school/community relations.
- Model positive professional attributes.
- Take students to and prepare students for CDEs, LDEs, and other FFA or school-related events.
