Summary:
The Assistant Superintendent of School Leadership and Support ensures excellence in the student experience by providing high quality leadership at all levels/schools and programs through School Performance, Athletics and Activities, Health Services, Resolution of Parental Concerns, Registration of students, Newcomer center and Leadership development with building and department leaders, Help implement the USD # 480 mission and vision by collaborating with all other departments to coordinate efforts towards creating the best possible outcomes for students. Serve as a member of the District Leadership Team.

- Support the Superintendent to execute the vision and mission of USD # 480.
- Provide leadership to members of District Leadership Team at each level to support school needs.
- Collaborate with all departments to support schools, personnel, students, and families.
- Demonstrate leadership in crisis management.
- Monitor Student Achievement to create goals and objectives that meet the desired outcomes of the Strategic Plan.
- Monitor and help resolve conflict with parents, students, staff and community as needed.
- Maintain current and research-based practices that help the district and schools continue to evolve and grow.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Education and Training:
Required Qualifications: Master's degree.
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. or Ed.D. plus additional coursework required for certification or licensure.
Experience:
- More than 5 years of experience in building/site administration and instructional leadership.
- 5 years of Superintendent Experience or Equivalent preferred
Certificates, Licenses & Registrations:
- Active Kansas Principal or Administrator license
- Superintendent Certification
- Valid Kansas driver's license
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum amounts of formal education, professional work experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities that must be met for a candidate to be considered for a position.
