School Scheduler
Master Schedule Development and Maintenance
- Collaborate with school leadership, department chairs, and counselors to develop the master schedule, ensuring appropriate course offerings, teacher assignments, and room allocations.
- Adjust the master schedule as needed throughout the year to accommodate staffing changes, course demand, and other unforeseen factors.
- Ensure that student schedules are structured to maximize instructional time, academic support, and enrichment opportunities while balancing teacher availability and facility resources.
- Continuously evaluate and refine scheduling processes and structures to improve student access to courses, academic interventions, and personalized learning opportunities based on student needs and school priorities.
Student Scheduling and Support
Work closely with counselors and advisors to create and modify individual student schedules that align with graduation requirements, career pathways, and post-secondary preparation needs.Assist students and parents with schedule-related inquiries, explaining options and ensuring that schedule changes align with district policies and academic planning.
Monitor student schedules to identify conflicts, missing requirements, or imbalances, proactively resolving issues with input from counselors and administrators.
Implement scheduling changes for students throughout the year, including mid-year course adjustments, course drops/adds, and credit recovery placements.
Collaboration and Communication
Coordinate with counselors, advisors, and administration to ensure all students receive equitable access to courses and necessary support structures.Serve as the primary point of contact for scheduling-related concerns, facilitating discussions between students, parents, teachers, and support staff.
Communicate schedule changes and updates effectively to all stakeholders, ensuring clarity and transparency in the process.
Partner with the technology department to ensure the student information system (SIS) is accurately updated and that scheduling processes are efficient and streamlined.
Technical and Data Management
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the SIS related to course offerings, student enrollments, and schedule modifications.Utilize scheduling software to maximize efficiency and accuracy in course placements and modifications.
Generate reports on scheduling data, including student course enrollment trends, class sizes, and schedule conflicts, to support decision-making.
Ensure compliance with district, state, and accreditation requirements related to student schedules, course credits, and graduation tracking.
