Liberation Programs is hiring a Per Diem Residential Support Staff for Liberation House in Stamford, our men's inpatient residential treatment program for substance use.
Job Function and Purpose :
Recovery Support Staff are responsible for ensuring that the daily operations of the facility are functioning appropriately, Recoveree services are on schedule and running smoothly, and that our Recoverees feel safe and supported.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Ensure emotional support and safety of Recoverees
- Conduct and document facility protocols
- Monitor Recoveree meals and medication schedules
- Smooth shift transition by providing proper documentation of previous shift
- Maintain open line of communication with Clinical Supervisors and Program Director
- Conflict resolution, de-escalation & crisis intervention

Liberation Programs is one of Fairfield County's leading behavioral health organizations specializing in treatment for all types of substance use disorders including alcohol, opiates, depressants and stimulants. Our goal is to help individuals and families overcome addiction in order to restore their lives and ultimately strengthen our communities. Liberation provides services for youth, adults and families that include two inpatient treatment programs, outpatient and intensive outpatient services, health education for older adults and people living with HIV / AIDS and other chronic illnesses, treatment and resources for adolescents and their families, education and prevention efforts in the community, and permanent supportive housing for families. In operation since 1971, the agency has sites in Greenwich, Stamford, Norwalk and Bridgeport and served more than 2,400 individuals in our last fiscal year.
Liberation House
Liberation House, located in Stamford, provides an inpatient treatment program for men with a capacity to serve 65 individuals at a time. Duration of treatment can be up to 90 days. During this time Recoverees engage with staff to provide them with basic information regarding their substance use disorder and recovery; residency and employment status is also discussed throughout treatment. Immediately upon their admission Recoverees identify their goals and objectives and craft an individual service plan to be used as a guide throughout their treatment stay. Recoverees meet weekly with a skilled counselor for individual counseling. During these sessions, Recoverees also report on progress of their goals and identify growth and changes. Recoverees may also be engaged in both Mental Health and Medication Assisted Recovery (MAR) programs. Additionally, family therapy and group counseling are available. Group and individual counseling focuses on building and sustaining daily life skills inclusive of transitioning to employment, securing stable housing, and adapting to a new normal : a stable routine without substances.
