Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Amsterdam, NY
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Physical Requirements: Lift a minimum of 50 lbs., climbing, bending, sitting, standing, stooping, walking, crawling, kneeling, twisting, and reaching.
Hours of Work: M-F, 40 hours/wk., 7am - 3:30pm. On Call, Holiday and overtime work as required
Pay Range: The pay range is $17.22 to $24.00
Job Summary:
To provide maintenance services to the various Agency homes and locations. To ensure a safe environment for all residing and working in these facilities.
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in building maintenance.
- 1 year of trade experience preferred (i.e. plumbing, electrical, etc.)
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Excellent communication skills and basic computer usage skills.
- CPR certification required.
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language
- Valid, clean NYS Driver's License
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide skills to maintain building components which include but are not limited to carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, mobility equipment, fire and security systems.
- Assure that all maintenance work performed by self are completed in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform task necessary to complete routine and preventative maintenance work orders as assigned.
- Ensure that all documentation, purchase requisitions and work orders are accurate, complete and timely.
- Monitor agency for unsafe conditions and correct or report any found immediately.
- All in house projects must be completed in an efficient manner.
- Maintain work areas, tools and equipment as agreed.
- Follow all department/agency policies and procedures.
- Provide person centered individual attention to all consumers.
