Description
SUMMARY
The Parts Counter Person receives, verifies, and stocks incoming orders, while filling orders for the body shop and service departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Essential duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Receive shipments and verify the order.
- Maintain shipping and receiving records.
- Organize shipments and put up stock.
- Assist in maintenance of bins and equipment.
- Order parts according to company policy.
- Communicate with technicians/managers regarding delays in part orders.
Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a valid drivers license with a company acceptable driving record.
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- Ability to communicate well orally and in writing with customers, vendors and other contacts.
- Must maintain a professional appearance.
- Ability to use a computer.
- Ability to interpret vendor catalogues
EDUCATION
- High School diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE
- 1 year of parts experience in a dealership
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- The Parts Clerk must be able to move throughout the parts department all day, reaching, climbing and lifting parts from inventory
- Must be able to stand, sit, and walk eight hours a day
- Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds, climb at least two flights of stairs, kneel, bend and reach above the shoulders
- The Parts Clerk will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust, and paint fumes and will be required to work in extreme heat and/or cold and rain
