This is a 10-week Summer Internship, with Full-Time Hours located on-site in Middletown, CT
SUMMARY OF THE JOB:
Work closely with and obtain guidance from the Audit Team to perform audit work, which may include control testing and regulatory reviews of certain areas of the Bank in order to gain an understanding of internal audit, the banking industry, and related processes and systems. Through this work, the intern will help identify key weaknesses or areas containing inefficiencies, as well as identify opportunities to enhance the Bank’s internal control environment. Work may also include assisting the Audit Team on department-wide projects.
Audit testing should be adequately supported, and workpapers should be logically organized. The intern should work with the Audit Team to develop the initial skills needed to perform assigned tasks and projects.
Develop analytical skills necessary to understand the purpose of the controls being tested. The intern will use these analytical skills to evaluate the adequacy of the Bank’s internal control structure and determine if control deficiencies exist.
Effectively communicate the results of testing through verbal communication or through written memos and workpapers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A junior or senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Technology, or other Business disciplines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Basic Excel Knowledge
Ability to think and work independently within a professional setting
Analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
Flexibility to work within a multi-discipline team and receive dynamic on-the-job training
