This is a 10-week Summer Internship, with Full-Time Hours located on-site in Middletown, CT
SUMMARY OF THE JOB:
The internship program is designed to provide valuable hands-on experience that will align with your career goals. A successful intern is a team player who maintains a high level of professionalism and confidentiality, is detailed oriented, has a process improvement mindset and can build respectful and productive relationships with multi-functional internal/external business partners. The Fraud Intelligence Unit/ Corp. Security intern reports directly to the Loss Prevention Supervisor and indirectly to the Director of the FIU and the Corporate Security Officer. The intern will learn and support daily operational functions and be responsible for other assignments that support ongoing goals of the team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs any function necessary, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and support to the Fraud & Special Investigations Unit functions. Including but not limited to:
Understand the company, including the brand, customer, goals and other aspects of banking.
Assist in the review of daily fraud alerts/reports to identify fraudulent activity.
Assist in the development or enhancement of FIU training materials for frontline employees, such as PowerPoints and Retail training handouts.
Review daily reports and documentation to ensure completion and proper sign off.
Assist in updating red flag list for customers.
Assist in Corporate Security related tasks including camera reviews and drafting recovery letters.
Learn technical skills related to the industry and assigned department.
Potential to provide ad-hoc support to senior risk management and cross-department initiatives.
MINIMUN REQUIREMENTS:
Currently enrolled in a related undergraduate degree program
Demonstrate strong analytical thinking, problem solving, communication, innovative and interpersonal skills
In third or fourth year of college program
Oral & written communication skills and intermediate technical skills (Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.)
Prior industry experience preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs.
Use of general office equipment
Ability to travel
