Job Summary
The Liberty County Board of Commissioners is currently accepting applications for the seasonal position of Spray Truck Operator within the Mosquito Control Department. This position is responsible for driving the spray truck and operating light to medium equipment in the abatement of mosquitos.
Major Job Duties
- Operates spray truck in an assigned area.
- Performs safety inspections of assigned vehicle.
- Refills tank with chemicals as needed.
- Refills truck with fuel as needed.
- Maintains routine work records.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Knowledge Required
- Ability to read a map
- Small engine repair knowledge is a plus
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Less than one year of related experience required.
- Possession of a valid Georgia Class C driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Physical Demands
- Typically performed in outdoors occasionally in cold or inclement weather.
- Frequently lifts light objects and occasionally heavy objects and distinguishes between shades of color.
- Exposed to machinery with moving parts and irritating chemicals.
- Requires use of protective devices such as masks; goggles; and gloves.
Salary & Benefits
This is a seasonal (part-time schedule) position with an hourly compensation of $15.84 (Grade 8A). There are no benefits associated with this position. Normal work hours are Monday-Friday approximately 6:00 - 11:00 PM (or until finished). However, schedule will be flexible and may be subject to change depending on sunset and weather conditions.Application Special Instructions
