MTSS Coordinator (Multi-Tiered System of Supports)
Job Goal:
The MTSS Coordinator must be knowledgeable of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports process, possess the ability to work collaboratively with administrators, school psychologists, academic specialist, behavior specialist, special education teachers, classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, parents, and staff and be able to design, implement and monitor interventions designed to help students achieve academic success.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, school psychology, or related field.
2. A minimum of three years successful teaching experience.
3. Hold a valid Georgia Teaching Certificate.
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prompt and regular attendance
* Provide training, consultation, and support to administrators, teachers, and school-based leadership teams to facilitate implementation of MTSS at the district and school levels.
• Develop, lead, implement, monitor, and collaborate with other educators in the district-wide integration of MTSS.
• Meet with and support school leaders in the implementation of the MTSS framework so that it supports the vision, mission, and goals of district improvement in teacher practice and student achievement.
• Monitor the fidelity of implementation of MTSS at the school level including both academic and behavior support systems.
• Monitor process to ensure compliance and adherence to district procedures, state guidelines, and federal regulations.
• Coordinates MTSS professional development activities for school and district personnel.
• Manage, analyze, and utilize student data (i.e., scoring probes, scheduling data collection, using collected data to drive student support).
• Maintain cooperative working relationships with parents, staff, and other district personnel.
• Maintain effective and timely written and oral communication with parents, staff, and other personnel.
• Serves as requested on district committees.
• Develop and maintain a positive rapport with families and staff.
• Maintain professional competence through professional reading and attending appropriate workshops, courses, and conferences.
• Establish, monitor and ensure the fidelity of a district recommended list of high quality content specific interventions and resources that are aligned to district student academic outcomes.
• Assist schools in understanding screening, diagnostic and progress monitoring data for the purpose of identifying struggling learners, instruction/intervention design, and students’ response to interventions, respectively.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor of Superintendent.
Physical Requirements:
Able to perform routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities including:
Medium Work: Exerting 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds as needed to move objects.
Terms of Employment: 190 day contract
Salary shall be paid consistent on the System’s approved salary schedule. Length of work year and hours of employment shall be established by the system.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning.
