Position Overview:
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessionals to join our team in Fort Washington, PA and surrounding areas! The ideal candidate will provide one-on-one assistance to students with diverse learning needs, helping them to excel academically and develop essential skills. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives while working in a supportive and flexible environment. Responsibilities:
- Assist students with homework assignments, test preparation, and academic projects in various subjects, including but not limited to math, science, English, and social studies.
- Implement individualized learning plans tailored to students' unique strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles.
- Provide guidance and encouragement to foster a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Utilize effective teaching strategies and instructional techniques to enhance students' comprehension and retention of material.
- Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and educators to track students' progress and address any concerns or challenges.
- Maintain accurate records of students' academic performance, attendance, and behavioral observations.
- Collaborate with other members of the educational team, including teachers, therapists, and support staff, to ensure cohesive and comprehensive support for students.
- Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines, including confidentiality and child protection protocols.
Required Clearances:
- FBI Fingerprints (within 1 year)
- Police State Record Report (PATCH and within 1 year)
- Child Abuse Clearance (within 1 year)
- Act 24
- Transcript/Diploma
- Mandated Reporter Training
- All ACT 168
- TB Test
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Previous experience working with students in a tutoring, teaching, or mentoring capacity preferred.
- Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping others succeed.
- Reliable transportation to within the designated area (York, PA and surrounding areas).
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
