ABOUT THIS POSITION
The Solar Salesperson will oversee relationships with both existing and prospective customers, ensuring satisfaction
and uncovering opportunities for growth. The ideal candidate possesses a proven track record in utility-scale solar
sales, an extensive network of industry contacts, and a deep understanding of the utility solar market. This role calls
for a driven, well-organized professional with strong prospecting abilities and the skills to cultivate enduring customer relationships.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Our ideal Candidate:
- Nurture relationships with existing assigned customers (owner, developers, EPCs, etc..) and “open up” new customers.
- Bring purchase orders for Company products and solutions to achieve or exceed agreed sales plans.
- Understand the needs and expectations of the customers and provide relevant solutions.
- Work closely with other departments to affect total customers satisfaction, particularly via superior design and quoting assistance, timely deliveries, and fast and pragmatic handling of customer claims.
- Acquire sufficient product knowledge Electrical Balance of Systems (EBOS) to answer non-expert customer questions.
- Prepare and maintain proper documentation throughout the sales and warranty processes.
- Participate in meetings to discuss benchmarks and goals, forecasts, and current orders.
- Lead and deliver compelling presentations to potential clients, effectively showcasing products and services to drive sales.
- Establish and maintain ongoing relations with existing customers and develop relations with new customers.
- Process and report customer suggestions and complaints and assist in solving such.
- Regularly create and maintain CRM entries, reports, and presentations.
- Assist in training new hires as the company grows.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate Traits:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in sales within the utility-scale solar industry, with a proven track record of success.
- Experience working with large-scale solar owners, developers and EPC contractors.
- Strong network of contacts within the solar and energy industries.
- Experience in customer service or sales required, preferably in the electrical industry.
- Proven experience in the utility scale space included EBOS.
- Excellent organizational and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Passion for sales, relationship building and customer loyalty.
- Strong ability to collaborate with partners and peers across the organization and outside to achieve project and operational results.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
Work is performed in a home office environment as well as on the road. Regular travel to customer offices and
construction sites is a key requirement for this position. Must be willing to accommodate working conditions at
customer construction sites that involve “hard hat/PPE” areas that may be dusty, muddy, cold, or hot.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Project size >$1.0 m
- Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Office, MS Project Bluebeam, and Accubid – Preferred
- Desire to grow with our company and advance to a sales manager position

$67.5-80k/Annually
