Salary : $85-110k / Year
JOB SUMMARY :
The Estimator is responsible for planning, coordinating and managing the estimating department functions. The position requires organization, a motivational attitude and independent work ethic.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Ability to study and understand project documents / estimate, our scope of work, the contract, specifications and plans.
Determine necessary materials, equipment and personnel to build project.
Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to review and negotiate price / scope and obtain quotes.
Compile complete and thorough estimates with company software.
Develop and submit RFIs, identifying discrepancies in design and contract requirements, offer solutions to the Owner or General Contractor that will assist in overcoming design / constructability issues.
Manage and administer department functions including budgets, staffing, work assignments, bid results and bids.
Attend and participate in pre-bid meetings / walks.
Represent and protect the interest of Liberty.
POSTION REQUIREMENTS :
Requires high level of analytical skills, ethical behavior, security of sensitive information and maintaining company confidentiality.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite products, McCormick Estimating Software (or designated database), and the ability to research and maneuver on the web.
Requires regular attendance and timeliness, reporting all scheduled and non-scheduled absences to Manager and Human Resources.
Respectful of each employees area of responsibility, embracing positive relationships, and being aware of the need for all employees to perform the essential functions of their job with minimal interruptions.
Ability to work independently, setting priorities, utilizing efficient time management skills to ensure all essential functions are performed in an accurate and timely manner within the work week schedule.
Ability to develop procedural protocol for reoccurring responsibilities / tasks, establishing an efficient routine, streamlining processes, taking ownership of essential functions, and communicating processes with manager utilizing minimal supervision.
Ability to effectively communicate oral and written, with concise and complete information, researching issues as necessary, proposing options if applicable, ensuring minimal impact on co-workers and customers. Best judgment should be practiced for those issues that need immediate attention.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
Minimum of five years in similar construction estimating and related functions plus thorough knowledge of estimating strategies, techniques and construction contracts required.
High School Diploma or equivalent
