Description:
Liberty Elementary has declared a licensed teaching position open for the Enrichment Specialist and Advanced Learning Academy (ALA) Coordinator. The successful coordinator candidate will support both teachers and students in the successful implementation of the ALA and enrichment program.
Contract:
Contract Length: 183.5 days
Start date: August 11, 2025
Expectations:
Support students and teachers in inquiry-based learning.
Provide professional development and support for ALA teachers.
Provide enrichment activities for ALA students.
Develop and maintain a community communication plan for ALA activities and events.
Create and update ALA content on our school website.
Support ALA teachers in understanding and meeting International Baccalaureate (IB) standards.
Identify and solve problems by creating new, useful, or imaginative solutions that promote inquiry-based teaching/learning practices.
Maintain ALA yearly budgets according to the expectations of the ALA program.
Coordinate scheduling and administration of all ALA assessments.
Coordinate scheduling and implementation of all ALA community events.
Direct and support students and teachers in the implementation of ALA Choir/Plays
Plan and implement lessons for IB students in developing research skills.
Support 6th-grade teachers and students with exhibition planning and implementation.
Professional Learning and Growth:
Engage in continuous learning to deepen professional knowledge, skills, and dispositions in organizational change and leadership, project management, and adult learning to improve professional practice.
Regularly evaluate and reflect on their professional practice and dispositions to improve and strengthen their ability to effectively model and facilitate technology-enhanced learning experiences.
Participate in team meetings and ad hoc problem-solving meetings (as necessary).
Actively contribute to the Ogden School District online community of practice (i.e. develop resources that are shared district-wide via various web-based outlets).
Maintain, manage, and share a variety of resources for teacher and student use in learner-centered classrooms.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
Meet professional teacher education requirements of school, district, and state.
Relevant experience with and understanding of the International Baccalaureate Program.
Relevant experience with and understanding of Gifted and Talented programs.
Possess or be willing and able to obtain a Gifted and Talented Teaching Endorsement within three years from hire date.
