SUMMARY OF POSITION
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our innovative team. This role will focus on supporting Liberty's electric fracturing fleet while also collaborating on microgrid solutions for customers in industrial settings. The ideal candidate will combine power systems expertise with practical field experience in both conventional and renewable energy systems.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license – Required.
- 5 years of experience in electrical power systems design and electrical commissioning.
Demonstrated expertise in:
- Protection relay programming and coordination
- Low Voltage (LV) AC, Medium Voltage (MV) AC, and 1000V DC power systems design and implementation
- Power system studies (Arc Flash, Relay Coordination, Grounding)
- Power Electronics
- National Electric Code (NEC)
- Substation design and construction
Proficiency in:
- ETAP and electrical modeling software
- AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Electrical equipment and cable sizing
- Power distribution system design
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs and implements 480VAC,13.8kVAC and 1000VDC electrical systems for electric fracturing equipment.
- Performs and supports MV microgrid development for industrial customers, including:
o Major equipment specifications
o Power system studies
- Develops comprehensive system designs including:
o Equipment layout optimization
o Site grounding systems
o Cable management solutions
o Power system detailed designs
o Electrical protective schemes
o Bills of material creation
- Leads electrical commissioning efforts.
- Conducts quality control and compliance reviews of:
o Initial design concepts
o Final drawing packages
- Develops and maintains company electrical standards and equipment specifications.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams on system integration.
Technical Expertise
- Power system analysis and modeling.
- SEL protective relay programming.
- Renewable energy integration.
- Energy storage systems.
- Industrial power distribution.
- Grid interconnection requirements.
- EMI/EMC considerations.
- Safety and compliance standards.
WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT •
- Primary office location with professional/business casual environment.
- Field work required for:
o System commissioning, site surveys, customer consultations, technical troubleshooting.
- Travel requirements:
o Domestic travel up to 25%, site visits as needed for project implementation.
- Schedule flexibility required for:
o Project deadlines, emergency response, customer support.
- Standard office equipment utilization:
o Engineering workstation, design software, communication devices, testing equipment.
