Liberty Environmental, Inc., founded in 2004 and headquartered in Reading, PA, provides environmental consulting and engineering services to clients across the United States and in many industries. Other branch offices are located in Lancaster, PA, Berwyn, PA, Lebanon, NJ, and New York City.


Our staff is composed of national experts in air quality management, water and waste management, environmental compliance, energy efficiency and greenhouse gas management, storage tank management, natural resources, and geotechnical engineering.


We are seeking to fill an Senior Project Manager role in our company at our Lebanon, New Jersey office. This person will be client focused, growth oriented and performance driven.


POSITION SUMMARY:


The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for formulating and administering company policies, effective planning, directing, and coordinating all Engineering Department activities, as well as actively managing several key projects.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Technical Engineering Responsibilities:

  • Experience with providing engineering services involving civil, environmental, and industrial wastewater.
  • Experience completing design analysis, preparing engineering cost estimates, preparing civil or remedial design packages that include drawings and construction specifications, and construction oversight.
  • Experience with Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey permitting of industrial wastewater discharge, soil erosion and sediment control, and general site planning.
  • Familiarity and working expertise with major federal environmental and safety regulations (e.g., RCRA, CERCLA, CWA, OSHA, TSCA) required.
  • Direct, lead, and implement concurrent environmental services projects/tasks.
  • Provide technical leadership to engineers, drafters, and administrative support to ensure the accurate and timely completion of projects, including the review and approval of documentation.
  • Develop cost estimates for feasibility studies and remedial designs for Superfund, brownfield, and other contaminated sites. Manage codocuments, ondograms, prepare planning documents, and prepare reports for environmental characterization and remediation projects.
  • Perform engineering design for environmental projects, including the preparation of drawings, specifications, calculations, and developing operation, maintenance, and monitoring plans.
  • Establish and monitor schedules and budgets as they are related to the assigned projects.
  • Proven client and project management experience complimented with strong technical skills.


Management Responsibilities:

  • Lead, support and direct project engineers, and assistants in planning, scheduling, and implementation of all projects.
  • Direct the training and mentoring of subordinates in the Engineering Division on management philosophies, techniques, leadership, and routine policies and procedures.
  • In coordination with the director of marketing, develop and implement local marketing and growth strategies.
  • Represent the firm at client meetings, industry events, and other business functions.
  • Ensure compliance with company expectations for staff utilization.
  • Responsible for empowering project teams to successfully deliver projects leading to satisfied clients and strong financial performance. 
  • Maintain a defined level of chargeability and support other offices.
  • Maintain client communication in coordination with other offices and ensure satisfactory client experience, project production, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures.


Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental. Civil, or Chemical Engineering. Master’s Degree Preferred.
  • 15 years’ experience in the environmental engineering field.
  • 6 years progressive management experience.


Required Skills:

  • A current New Jersey Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Experience in landfill design and construction, wastewater treatment, and large-scale groundwater remediation.
  • Preparing proposals and budget estimates.
  • Substantial technical and project management experience.
  • Adept at leveraging communications skills both externally (business development, preparing and writing proposals, budget estimates, community engagements, stakeholder and partnership development, leading client presentations/meetings) and internally, to drive the development and engagement of strong teams.
  • Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and Refresher Training.
  • Ability to travel as necessary to complete duties.


Preferred skills:

  • Strong skills in project and client relationship management and collaborative problem solving with stakeholders, clients, and team members.
  • Software experience: MS Excel, MS Projects, MS PowerPoint. Experience in GIS/MicroStation/AutoCAD experience is a plus.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills, professional demeanor, and communications abilities.
  • Ability to use problem solving and flexibility to successfully resolve issues.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient technical writing skills and understanding of industry-standard IT applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
