Liberty FCU, a full-service credit union, is seeking a Consumer Lending Sales Trainer. This individual will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing training programs for consumer loan officers within the Direct Lending Contact Center (LCC). This role requires strong communication skills, expertise in lending processes, understanding of the sales cycle, and the ability to mentor and coach individuals to enhance their performance and knowledge in all aspects of lending. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide initial sales training for all new LCC lenders on lending products, procedures, and platforms to ensure they are educated and equipped to assist any potential borrower with the lending needs.
- Provide hands-on training to lenders on how to perform the duties required of a lender to process a loan request and assist them with the following:
- Completing an application
- Reviewing creditworthiness of the borrower
- Offering all qualified ancillary products
- Compiling loan documentation for electronic signatures
- Disbursing loan funds
- Cross-selling additional products
- Maintaining a working knowledge of lead lists
- Provide best sale techniques for maximizing lead opportunities
- Proper follow-up procedures for multiple touch points
- The most efficient use of CRM system
- Credit union lending policies and regulatory guidelines
- Understanding the purpose of each document and how to avoid and correct document funding errors
- Design and develop comprehensive training programs for new and existing loan officers that align with organizational goals.
- Create online course content to build a lending library
- Work closely with other departments (e.g. compliance, training) to ensure comprehensive training coverage
- Collaborate with the Department Sales Managers to provide ongoing training to the existing team based on the needs assessments of the Sales Manager.
- Establish at least quarterly group training sessions based on the feedback from the Sales Department.
- Establish training modules to be deployed on an as needed basis for the different elements of the sales process. These could be used for one-on-one or small group training as requested by the Sales Managers.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to Sales Managers to help them improve lender performance.
- Provide additional training as directed by Sales Managers to support individual training plans the Managers have developed.
- Create sales training programs that educate LCC loan officers on best sales techniques. Including but not limited to:
- How to cross-sell Payment Protection, GAP, and MRC
- Obtaining loan recapture from other institutions
- Developing omni channel sales scripts (ie. phone, email, text)
- Providing guidance for effective communication efforts
- Complete reporting and documentation on all training sessions as feedback to department leadership.
- Maintain records of training sessions, attendance, and participant feedback
- Prepare and present reports on training initiatives for management which will allow them to measure the training success
- Maintain a working knowledge of all lending platforms and websites.
- Any other duties assigned by management.
