Description
SUMMARY
Schedules and sells needed service work in the service department while providing excellent customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Essential duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Schedules service appointments.
- Obtains customer and vehicle data before arrival when possible.
- Greets customers in a timely, friendly manner.
- Performs complete walk-around vehicle checks for damage and needed repairs.
- Administers factory warranty process following procedures outlined by aftermarket and Ford warranties.
- Informs customers on the importance of filling out 5-star surveys from Ford Motor Company.
- Handles rental cars for customers following the write-up process for rental contracts and constantly checking for damage when charging rental out on repair orders to ensure proper payment.
- Fill out and process online websites for the fleet companies bringing their vehicles in for service.
- Correctly write purchase orders for rental vehicles, commercial companies, and sublets as needed.
- Completes training as needed to stay compliant with Ford Motor Company.
- Clearly and accurately documents all issues with a customer's vehicle on the repair order.
- Refers to service history, inspects vehicle, and recommends additional needed service.
- Provides a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts.
- Obtains customer's signature on repair order; provides the customer with a copy.
- Checks on the progress of repair throughout the day. Contacts the customer regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time, explains cost and time requirements in detail, and gets proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.
- Review repair orders to ensure that work is completed and that additional work and authorization are noted. Close the repair order as appropriate.
- Explains completed work and all charges to customers.
- Maintains high customer satisfaction standards.
- Handles telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in process.

The Service Advisor will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust, and paint fumes and will be required to work in extreme heat and / or cold and rain and be able to walk, stand, and greet customers for at least 8 hours in a shift.
