Overview:
We are a full-service FBO located in the Kansas City Area providing comprehensive aviation services including aircraft maintenance, management, charter operations, avionics support, and parts sales. We specialize in Pilatus, Citation, and Piper aircraft and are seeking a highly qualified Director of Maintenance (DOM) to lead our maintenance operations. This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring all maintenance activities meet FAA standards, customer expectations, and internal quality benchmarks. The ideal candidate is hands-on, proactive, and experienced in both Part 91 and Part 135 environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all maintenance operations for managed and customer aircraft, including Pilatus, Citation, and Piper platforms
- Oversee technicians and support teams across maintenance, avionics, and parts departments
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations (Part 91 and Part 135), OEM procedures, and company policies
- Schedule and coordinate routine maintenance, inspections, and unscheduled repairs
- Collaborate with charter operations to ensure aircraft readiness and support mission planning
- Serve as the primary liaison for the FAA, customers, vendors, and internal departments
- Maintain detailed aircraft maintenance records, logs, and inspection documents
- Develop and manage department budgets, personnel schedules, and workflow processes
- Promote a safety-first culture and continuous improvement mindset across all operations
Qualifications:
- Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P;) Certification required
- 8-10 years of aircraft maintenance experience, with 5 years in a leadership or DOM role
- Extensive experience with Pilatus, Citation, and Piper aircraft platforms
- Knowledge of FBO operations and aircraft management models
- Familiarity with Part 135 charter requirements and industry best practices
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Strong understanding of safety, regulatory, and documentation standards
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary: $180,000 - $200,000, depending on experience
