We are currently seeking an experienced:
FLOATING CORPORATE BUSINESS OFFICE MANAGER
Full Time, Days
JOB SUMMARY:
- Due to the nature of the job, a high degree of confidentiality is required.
- Responsible for scheduling receptionist coverage and Business Office Assistant duties.
- Provides supervision for additional business office staff, to include receptionist and business office assistant.
- Maintains continuing prior approvals and FL2 approvals as needed to insure third party claims will process and pay.
- Meets with all new admits and maintains communication with Responsible Parties as it pertains to financial needs of resident and collection efforts.
- Prepare monthly reports and ability to complete required AR review and research accounts.
- Verifies secondary insurances on admission to insure valid payer sources for all residents.
- Issues Medicare Notice of Non-coverage and ABNs as required. Discusses additional payer sources for continued stay.
- Scans required documents on admission per established policies.
- Follows established scheduled procedures necessary to carry out functions to the Central Office.
- Maintains and monitors general petty cash and patient funds according to procedures. Balances all money weekly.
- Maintains the safety and integrity of all monies received.
- Maintains all financial files in an accurate, easily retrievable manner.
- Receives, maintains and distributes Medicaid ID cards in accordance with established procedure.
- Assures that all Insurance information is gathered and reauthorizations of insurances completed per policy.
- Receives patient payments and prepares PCC receipts as needed. Prepares deposits per policy. Keeps current record of patient accounts.
- Reviews Statements as outlined in Best Practice manual.
- Maintains and balances patient personal fund transactions into PCC daily.
- Makes family members and residents feel comfortable when discussing financial affairs, answering questions in a kind and professional manner.
- Review and maintain resident information within PCC using established procedures for admissions, discharges, changes in status and reviews.
- Assist the Central Billing Office when required, following policies as established in Best Practice Manual.
- Have a working knowledge of Best Practice policies and procedures
- Pursues collections of accounts as outlined in Best Practice Manual.
- Maintain NC Tracks/FL2 binder as outlined in Best Practice Manual.
- Prepare for and attend Facility Case Mix meeting weekly.
- Responsible for checking patient’s accounts payable and sending to the Central Billing office for processing per established procedures.
- Must use proper telephone etiquette in an established manner and transfers calls in the most efficient means necessary.
- Must be responsible to code and send Accounts Payable to Corporate AP per Corporate policy, if assigned.
- Must be able to follow established Fire Policies and Evacuation Procedures as directed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have high school education, computer knowledge and experience. Previous experience working in a skilled nursing facility business office preferred
- Ability to conduct oneself in a professional, business-like, and responsible manner, and maturity to relate effectively with families and coworkers.
- Knowledge of current state/federal laws and regulations that apply to the business office in a long-term care setting.
- Strong office/desk organizational and interpersonal/teamwork skills to work effectively with facilities and Central Billing Office.
- Must have basic accounting abilities, with the ability to work with large numbers.
- Must have basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases, and should be skilled in the use of other office equipment.
- Must be familiar with Medicare, Medicaid and Managed Care Plans and the prior authorization process.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Must be able to work well under pressure.
- Must be able to work and cooperate well with other employees.
- Must be able to follow directions.
- Must be able to problem solve.
- Must read, know, and follow personnel, department, and Facility policies.
- Maintains a good working relationship with all staff members and other departments.
- Must have a valid N.C. Driver’s license.
- Ability to travel with overnight stays.
