Job Description
This position works effectively with the Provider(s), and clinic team, to ensure that the Liberty Healthcare Partners mission, goals, and performance standards for the clinic are met. The medical assistant reports to the Practice Manager. The medical assistant is responsible for patient care, assisting providers, specimen collection, appointment scheduling, and other duties necessary to provide comprehensive patient care and a safe environment for the patients and staff. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time, with or without notice.

Pay: Starting from $18.00 -$20.00 per hour.

Job Description

Clinic
Job Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam.
- Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients.
- Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure.
- Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing.
- Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions.
- Respond to all lab messages and call-back requests.
- Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations.
- Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure.
- Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis.
- Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Documents all procedures in the patient’s medical record.
- Updates and maintains the digital patient records by scanning and filing hard copy patient documents into the EMR.
- Patient calls, i.e. prescription refills.
- Completing Prior Authorizations.
- Able to handle several responsibilities at once.
- Complete special projects upon request and other duties as assigned.
- Able to handle confidential and proprietary information appropriately with a high level of integrity.
- Able to listen and communicate (written and verbal) with excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills and follow up effectively with all staffing levels.
- Strong computer skills.
- Must be well-organized and detail-oriented.
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload, multi-task, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under pressure with time constraints.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong Phlebotomy skill a must.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working in a clinic that provides primary care is preferred.
- Bilingual a plus.
Job Type: Full-time.
