What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Liberty Hill Bookkeeping & Tax Services?
Before applying, please note:
We are seeking an employee who sees their work as their career, not just a job. The services we provide have great payoff but working here is not for the faint of heart; we need someone who is committed to their position at our firm and works well under stress.
Day to Day - Employees will receive anywhere from 20-40 client accounts to provide monthly bookkeeping services to. This includes, posting & reconciling, payroll, sales tax filings, accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc. Sporadic services may need to be provided including loan applications, audits, tax estimates, corporate tax returns, individual tax returns, etc. We are turn-key, any service we provide is comprehensive. You must be able to manage your time and a running to-do list.
It's sink or swim - You must be able to adapt. Employees must use creative problem solving skills, research, and our operational guides to reach a resolution rather than relying on the assistance and experience of other staff members. Training is provided when needed, it should be reserved for complex situations. Due to this, candidates must have prior experience with bookkeeping; be ready to 'hit the ground running'.
Dedication - We expect all of our employees to have strong work ethics, display dedication to their work, participate as a team, comply with blackout periods, etc. All employees will work overtime during peak seasons and are required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Prior accounting knowledge is required. Tax Preparation experience is a plus.
